AB Dynamics (AIM:ABDP) confirmed that trading in the final quarter of the year to 31 August came in as anticipated, keeping full-year performance in line with the guidance issued on 28 July and current market expectations.

The AIM-listed designer and manufacturer of testing, simulation and measurement products for the global transport sector expects revenue from continuing operations of £91.6m, against analyst mean expectations of £91.4m compiled from eight independent research providers.

Adjusted operating margin is expected to align with the Group's medium-term target of 20%, with analysts' mean adjusted operating profit estimate standing at £18.3m.

Net cash stood at £24.5m at the year end, after funding the acquisition of eMpulse Test Systems on 19 August and a final deferred consideration payment related to Venshure Test Services.

The order book totalled £31m at year end, giving visibility into the first half of FY2027.

"In challenging market conditions, I am pleased that the Group has shown agility and resilience through the final quarter to deliver revenue performance in line with the guidance we gave in July, whilst maintaining margins in line with our 20% medium term target", said chief executive Sarah Matthews-DeMers.

News Intelligence what this means for the company

AB Dynamics delivered FY2026 revenue of £91.6m and a 20% adjusted operating margin, both matching July guidance and analyst expectations—a clean execution in what management describes as challenging market conditions. The company exited its loss-making Chinese business and funded the eMpulse Test Systems acquisition, leaving net cash of £24.5m and an order book of £31m providing visibility into H1 FY2027.

Investment case

The result confirms AB Dynamics can deliver on guidance despite headwinds, but offers no upside surprise. The near-term investment case hinges on whether eMpulse—acquired at a depressed revenue run-rate of $5.5m after tariff disruption—can recover to prior levels and whether the 20% margin target holds as integration costs and synergy realization play out in FY2027.
