Oil & Gas Development Company (LSE:OGDC) has successfully revived gas production from the Jand‑1 well in Attock District, with flows exceeding 21 MMSCFD through a 32/64‑inch choke at a wellhead flowing pressure of 3,585 psi.
The rate represents roughly a threefold increase from previous output of roughly 7.0 MMSCFD, the company said in a filing to the Pakistan Stock Exchange.
The well was first placed on production in 2019 via the Dakhni Gas Processing Plant and previously produced gas with a high hydrogen sulfide concentration of approximately 8% (approximately 80,000 ppm), before production stopped due to mechanical failure in sour downhole conditions.
OGDCL executed the revival using its own technical team and equipment, completing targeted stimulation, safely retrieving downhole materials and restoring well integrity under challenging conditions.
The well has been recompleted with corrosion‑resistant tubing suitable for sour service and the operations were carried out in line with the company's health, safety and environmental standards.
OGDCL framed the work as part of efforts to optimise existing assets and contribute to enhanced domestic hydrocarbon supply.
