Molten Ventures is investing €30m in Isar Aerospace’s €270m Series D to fund global scaling and the ramp-up of serial production for the Spectrum launch vehicle.

The Series D includes participation from Island Green Capital and existing investors, and will support Isar Aerospace, a Munich-based launch service provider for small and medium-sized satellites, as it targets growing demand for sovereign European launch capability.

Molten already had exposure to Isar through an Earlybird fund investment, with the Isar holding carried at a fair value of £40m at the year end on 31 March and a multiple on invested capital of approximately 10.1x.

The company says Europe faces a structural supply deficit in launch capacity as demand accelerates, and that Isar’s vertically integrated manufacturing model permits faster iteration and lower costs per launch.

“Launch capacity remains the critical bottleneck; Molten’s long‑term support will help us accelerate our next phase of global expansion,” said Daniel Metzler, Co‑Founder and CEO of Isar Aerospace.

Ben Wilkinson, Chief Executive of Molten Ventures, said the investment reflects the firm’s strategy of backing category‑defining companies at key value inflexion points.
