Georgina Energy (LSE:GEX) has inked a drilling contract with Ensign Australia for the supply of the Ensign 970 drill rig to test the Hussar prospect in exploration permit EP513 in Q3 2026.

Georgina Energy, a helium and hydrogen exploration company with strategic permits in Australia, intends to re‑enter and deepen the Hussar well to c.3,200m targeting subsalt Townsend Formation and fractured Neoproterozoic basement for helium, hydrogen and natural gas.

"We are fully committed to the drilling and development of the Hussar EP513 project and I am pleased to have executed a contract for an Ensign drill rig," Anthony Hamilton said.

The contracted rig is an Automated Drilling Rig‑1500 with a 750,000 lb hook load, capable of drilling to 5,000m with 5" drill pipe and a prognosed total depth for Hussar of c.2,800m.

Aztech Well Construction is reviewing suppliers for casing, wellhead and services including electric logging, casing running and cementing, drilling fluid engineering, wellsite geology, mudlogging and gas sampling and laboratory analysis.

Company operations and technical teams will visit site in June to inspect access road repairs, airstrip upgrades and authorised wind directional equipment and to prepare the drill and accommodation pads ahead of pre‑drill inspections.

Georgina pointed to estimates by independent consultants which see net attributable 2U Prospective Resources of 155 BCFG helium and 173 BCFG hydrogen, with a combined in‑situ value of US$55bn and 1.73 TCFG recoverable gas with an in‑situ value of US$5.24bn.
