Capital Metals (LSE:CAPD), the AIM-listed mineral sands developer advancing the Taprobane Minerals Project in Sri Lanka, said it will be a platinum sponsor of the country's inaugural Mineral Sands Technical Conference, held today in Colombo.

The event, organised by the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce and Mineral Technologies, has drawn more than 200 attendees and features the participation of Sri Lanka's Minister of Industry and Entrepreneurship Development, Sunil Handunneththi, the company noted.

It added that the conference aims to focus on moving Sri Lanka's mineral sands sector from resource availability to commercial value creation, covering project economics, mining and processing approaches, environmental management, ESG standards and global market dynamics.

"The participation of Minister Sunil Handunneththi is a strong sign of the country's commitment to advancing Sri Lanka's minerals sector," Martyr said, pointing to the recent publication of a new National Minerals Policy as part of a broader governmental effort to grow export earnings.
