Anglo Asian Mining (AIM:AAZ) announced upgrades to its Gedabek and Demirli processing plants designed to improve recoveries and operating margins.
Gedabek's flotation upgrade, due to complete by the end of April, has added nine Imhoflot pneumatic cells, an energy efficient pulp lifter, an industrial shredder and a fibre-optic tailings dam monitoring plan at a cost of approximately $1.8m to process higher-grade ore from Gilar and enhance gold and copper recoveries.
At Demirli both the SAG and ball mills are back in operation after a Q1 gearbox shaft replacement and ongoing bio-heap leach column tests have produced up to 78% copper recoveries, work that remains subject to further evaluation.
The Group is progressing feasibility studies for Xarxar and Garadag, with pilot mining at Garadag and independent geological and metallurgical assessments underway and consultants expected to be appointed in the coming weeks.
"Investing in our processing capacity is particularly important as we seek to maximise returns from expected increased production volumes in the years ahead," Stephen Westhead, Vice President, said.
The company produced 7,915 tonnes of copper and 25,061 ounces of gold for the year ended 31 December 2025 and retains a strategic plan to reach roughly 50,000-55,000 tonnes of annual copper production by 2030 via new mines including Xarxar, Garadag and Zafar.
