Kodal Minerals (AIM:KOD) shares have fallen 7.3%, to 0.31p, after the company said it had allowed its Nielle gold licence in Côte d'Ivoire to lapse.

The Nielle Licence was first granted for a three‑year period in 2014, was renewed twice for three‑year terms and received an exceptional two‑year renewal in 2023, and Kodal’s request for a further exceptional renewal was not accepted, the company said.

The lapse takes an early‑stage gold asset out of Kodal’s portfolio as the group concentrates on its Bougouni Lithium Project in southern Mali, where a Stage 1 DMS plant produced first spodumene concentrate in February 2025 and made a first shipment in December 2025.
