ECO Animal Health Group (AIM:EAH), the AIM-listed animal health company that develops and markets branded veterinary products, said the US Department of Agriculture's Center for Veterinary Biologics has confirmed its field safety trial data for ECOVAXXIN MS fulfils licensure requirements.

The trial tested the vaccine, which targets the poultry pathogen Mycoplasma synoviae, in more than 170,000 commercial laying pullets across three sites in Michigan, Indiana and Wisconsin.

ECOVAXXIN MS is the first product from ECO's proprietary research and development pipeline, already commercially launched in the EU in July 2026.

The company expects US marketing approval by the end of the calendar year, a step that would extend the vaccine's reach into its largest addressable poultry market.

"This milestone reflects the strength of the data generated across the three field sites, and we are excited to continue advancing the last remaining regulatory requirements towards US marketing authorisation," said David Hallas, chief executive of ECO Animal Health.

News Intelligence what this means for the company

The USDA's Center for Veterinary Biologics has confirmed that ECOVAXXIN MS—ECO Animal Health's poultry vaccine for Mycoplasma synoviae—meets field safety requirements for licensure, clearing a regulatory gate toward US marketing approval by year-end. This is the first product from the company's proprietary pipeline, already commercially launched in the EU in July 2026, and US approval would extend it into what the company describes as its largest addressable poultry market.

Investment case

ECOVAXXIN MS represents ECO's first internally developed product to reach late-stage US regulatory approval, validating the proprietary R&D pipeline and diversifying revenue beyond the marketed antibiotic Aivlosin. US clearance by year-end would open a material new market for the vaccine, though the company's near-term earnings case remains anchored to its existing £87.5m revenue base and £25.4m net cash position.
