Arkle Resources (AIM:ARK) PLC (AIM: ARK) said in an announcement that Group Eleven Resources intends to increase drilling at the Stonepark Zinc Project in County Limerick from approximately 3,000 metres to approximately 15,500 metres; Arkle holds a 22.36% interest and Group Eleven is the operator.
Stonepark comprises five contiguous prospecting licences covering 148 km² and sits adjacent to Glencore's Pallas Green zinc project (45.4 Mt). The deposit has an Inferred Mineral Resource of 5.1 Mt grading 11.3% combined zinc and lead (8.7% Zn, 2.6% Pb), is reported at depths of 190–395 m and remains open along and across strike.
Group Eleven acquired Teck Ireland's interest in the joint venture and counts Glencore as a 13% shareholder. The operator plans step-out drilling around the known Stonepark resource and a follow-up programme at the Carrickittle West prospect within the licence, after earlier work that included a 2022 fault intersection showing 150 m of vertical displacement and three follow-up holes in late 2024 totalling 1,372 m.
Rory Harding, Interim Chief Executive Officer, commented: "We are pleased to see Group Eleven shifting serious focus to Stonepark with an intention to drill around 15,500 metres. In June 2025, Group Eleven's Chief Executive Officer stated he regards Carrickittle West as one the best drill targets in Ireland and so it is incredibly exciting that it has now signalled its intention to drill approximately 15,500 metres which could add considerable value to Arkle's interest in Stonepark."
Arkle said its core focus is on uranium exploration in Namibia. Arkle Resources PLC (LSE:ARK) is a multi-commodity exploration company focused on uranium, lithium and zinc with projects in Namibia, Botswana and Ireland.
