Amigo Resources (LSE:AMGO) confirms the Government of Tanzania has formally granted the mineral licences for the Kabete Gold Project, enabling the group to mobilise technical, operational and geological teams and commence systematic field activities.

The London-listed mining development company focused on Africa, highlighted that the licence allows on-site verification of historical data and rapid progression of exploration work.

Historical programmes at Kabete comprise more than 3,800 soil samples, airborne and ground geophysics, trenching and 167 drill holes totalling roughly 21,400 metres, with notable intersections such as 16 metres at 6.4 g/t Au and 23 metres at ~2.3 g/t Au.

The company said it interprets mineralisation as a mix of free-gold and sulphide-associated gold with high-grade shoots within kilometre-scale envelopes, and select historical assays have flagged preliminary PGM and rubidium indications that require confirmation.

Amigo will deploy a hybrid exploration approach, passive and micro-seismic surveys, integrated geological/geophysical/geochemical modelling and AI-assisted targeting, while advancing a processing-plant initiative to treat tailings and historical material using a gravity-based concentration module under PCT application PCT/IB2026/052808.

Near-term objectives are completion of ground validation, progression toward a JORC-compliant exploration framework, expansion of target definition and drill planning, bulk sampling and metallurgical test work, development of processing capabilities and rapid advancement toward production.

"The formal grant of licences and mobilisation of our team to site marks a significant operational milestone for Amigo; we are now focused on systematically advancing exploration activities on the ground," said Anil Reddy, Chief Executive Officer, Mining Operations Africa.
