Devolver Digital flags first-half revenue at least 60% above prior year but warns STARSEEKER launch disappoints

The indie games publisher expects strong first-half trading to offset a slower-than-expected start for its System Era title, with full-year guidance to follow at half-year results in late September.

Devolver Digital, an independent video game publisher and developer, expects first-half 2026 revenue to come in at least 60% above the same period last year, with underlying adjusted EBITDA projected to reach mid single-digit US dollar millions.

The company attributed the sharp year-on-year uplift partly to the timing of its Devolver Steam Publisher sale, which fell in the first half of 2026 rather than the second, alongside a strong January in which three titles reached the top ten global best sellers on Steam.

The trading update flagged a notable stumble, however: subsidiary System Era's STARSEEKER: Astroneer Expeditions, released into Early Access in June alongside a significant platform deal, has posted disappointing unit sales since launch, though review scores are said to be improving, with content updates planned for August and through to the end of 2026.

The board said the second half pipeline remains encouraging, pointing to wishlists of around 260,000 for Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 and approximately 220,000 for Shroom and Gloom, while subsidiary studio Firefly's announcement of Stronghold 4 generated 250,000 wishlists within two weeks.

Devolver said the strong first-half cushion is expected to absorb the STARSEEKER drag, with detailed first-half results and full-year 2026 guidance scheduled for late September 2026.
