Zenith Energy buys two more solar sites

Zenith Energy (LSE:ZEN) has acquired two further ground-mounted photovoltaic development projects in Stradella, in Italy's Lombardy region, with combined indicative capacity of approximately 11 MWp.

The deal follows the Stradella 1 acquisition announced on 17 September and lifts Zenith's cluster in the Province of Pavia to roughly 20 MWp across three projects, all within the Stradella area.

Stradella 2 carries planned capacity of approximately 5 MWp and Stradella 3 roughly 6 MWp, subject to confirmation once final plant layouts are set.

The combined 12 hectares cost approximately €1.08m at €90,000 per hectare, with payment due only once the grid operator formally accepts the technical connection proposal (STMG), limiting Zenith's upfront exposure.

Both sites sit within 300 metres of the motorway and existing industrial facilities, proximity Zenith says will support saleability of the power generated given nearby electricity demand.

The acquisition takes Zenith's total Italian solar development pipeline to approximately 223 MWp, moving closer to its 240 MWp target by the end of 2026, a goal management raised earlier this year from an initial 200 MWp ambition.

"Discussions with buyers on asset monetisation are advancing, and we expect them to deliver significant revenue towards the end of this year or the beginning of 2027," said chief executive Andrea Cattaneo.

The Pavia cluster's location in Lombardy, Italy's most industrialised region and largest electricity consumer, underpins the long-term commercial case for the power to be produced there.
