hVIVO (AIM:HVO), the AIM-listed clinical research organisation specialising in human challenge trials, has appointed Angela Hildreth as chief financial officer and director with effect from 18 November.
She succeeds Richard Cotton, who has held the role on an interim basis since October following the retirement of Stephen Pinkerton.
Cotton will remain CFO until Hildreth takes up the post, then return to his previous role as Non-Executive Director once the handover is complete.
Hildreth joins from Futura Medical, where she has served as finance director and chief operating officer since 2018, helping steer the AIM-listed company from an R&D organisation into international commercialisation across European and US regulatory approvals and product launches. She will continue as a Non-Executive Director of Futura Medical for a period after stepping down from her executive duties there.
Before Futura Medical, Hildreth spent seven years at Shield Therapeutics, joining as financial controller in 2011 and rising to UK Finance Director in 2015, a period spanning the company's build-out to its AIM listing in 2016.
She has also chaired the audit committee as an independent non-executive director at Aptamer Group.
"We have established a differentiated, integrated early clinical development platform, supported by strong commercial momentum and an expanding orderbook", said Yamin 'Mo' Khan, chief executive officer of hVIVO, adding that Hildreth's experience would be "highly valuable as we convert these strengths into sustainable, profitable growth".
Hildreth said she had been "impressed by the strength of the business" and looked forward to supporting execution of the company's long-term growth strategy.
