Gunsynd (AIM:GUN), the AIM‑listed minerals explorer, said it expects to commence a summer field programme at the enlarged Barb Gold Project in Manitoba by mid‑June, subject to final snow melt.

The opening phase will comprise rock chip sampling across the newly acquired Lotus 1 & 2, Denver and Brook claims and Critical Discoveries has been contracted to implement the programme on behalf of Gunsynd.

Gunsynd also plans an induced polarisation (IP) survey over the Lotus and Denver claims and priority targets on the existing Barb licence to identify chargeability and resistivity anomalies and refine diamond drill hole targeting.

Historical records on file with the Manitoba Mines Branch for the Lotus deposit include a 1930 bulk shipment that returned an average 22.49 g/t Au across two cut samples and a 1935 channel sample reporting 34.29 g/t Au over 1.5 m, noting these figures predate NI 43‑101/JORC and have not been verified by a Qualified Person.

"Set alongside historical grades at the adjoining Lotus deposit of up to 34.29 g/t Au, the Board maintains a high level of confidence in the enlarged project," said Hamish Harris.

Discussions with the local First Nations community about planned exploration activities, including drilling, are continuing as the company prepares to mobilise when ground conditions allow.
