Windar Photonics (AIM:WPHO), which makes wind measurement sensors for turbines, has agreed a further two product trials with significant wind farm operators in Europe and the US.

The number of live trials and turbines operated by the customers involved is now higher than at any previous point in the company's history. These trials typically run for three to six months, followed by a period of analysis and capital approval before customers place orders.

The board said it is optimistic that a number of the trials will convert into orders in late 2026 and 2027, pointing to technology now proven across multiple platforms.

Buzzacott, the company's auditor, continues to work through Windar's full-year results for the year ended 31 December 2025.

A separate third-party investigation into the posting of certain sales orders in 2024 and 2025 is also still under way.

The board said it will provide further updates in accordance with its obligations under the AIM Rules for Companies.

News Intelligence what this means for the company

Windar Photonics has added two new product trials with major European and US wind farm operators, bringing its total live trial base to a historical high. Trials typically last 3–6 months before analysis and capital approval, with the board targeting order conversions in late 2026 and 2027. The announcement arrives as the company's auditor works through full-year 2025 results and a third-party investigation into sales order posting from 2024–2025 remains ongoing.

Investment case

The trial expansion signals continued customer engagement and technology validation across multiple platforms, supporting the commercialisation narrative. However, the pending audit completion and unresolved investigation into prior sales orders create material uncertainty about the integrity of reported results and the reliability of forward guidance—a risk that overshadows near-term trial momentum.
