Richmond Hill Resources (AIM:RHR) has completed a field reconnaissance and rock sampling programme at its Martello Gold Project in Ontario, Canada.
The work followed the company's recently completed independent 3D magnetic interpretation, aiming to ground-truth priority targets and refine future drill planning.
Fieldwork covered three areas, Sakoose, Maw and Church Lake, where the team collected 35 rock chip samples.
At Sakoose, field observations confirmed the historically mined quartz vein varies between roughly 15cm and 2 metres in thickness, with additional veinlets and widespread hydrothermal alteration identified in the surrounding rock.
That points to the possible presence of multiple vein systems, a finding the Company says will be tested against assay results.
At Maw, the team mapped several distinct structural orientations across quartz veins hosted in gabbro and porphyry dykes, and sampled a stockpile linked to what is believed to be the site's principal historical working.
Church Lake yielded further vein occurrences and historical workings, though vegetation bedrock exposure in parts of the target area.
Samples have been submitted for gold and multi-element analysis, with results expected during the third quarter.
"We are particularly encouraged by the observations at Sakoose, where the field team identified evidence that multiple vein systems may be present," said Hamish Harris, Executive Chairman.
Richmond Hill plans to integrate the assay results with its structural interpretation and 3D magnetic model to prioritise follow-up exploration and drill targeting.
