Chris Beauchamp, chief market analyst at IG, reckons bitcoin is enjoying one of its best phases in around eighteen months, with a recovery that has largely flown under the radar because of the Iran war and volatility in oil and equity markets.

The analyst, in a note on Monday, argues the advance is self-reinforcing, with rising prices drawing in more funds and generating the virtuous momentum that has been absent from bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies since the summer of 2025.

IG's clients, meanwhile, remain heavily long overall but have been selling both bitcoin and ether through April, and Beauchamp notes a weekly close back above the March/April 2025 lows could prompt buyers to reassert control as markets brace for a heavy week of central bank meetings and S&P 500 earnings.

"Whisper it quietly, but bitcoin is having one of its best months in eighteen months," Beauchamp writes, though he warns the coming wave of policy decisions, the S&P earnings bonanza and the trajectory of US-Iran negotiations will determine whether the revival is durable.
