Eden Research flags insecticide and blight pipeline progress

Eden Research (AIM:EDEN), the AIM-listed biopesticide developer, told shareholders ahead of its annual general meeting that regulatory and commercial milestones achieved since the start of 2025 have strengthened its position as an emerging leader in biological crop protection.

Chairman Lykele van der Broek cited California approval for Mevalone against powdery mildew on grapes, the appointment of Andermatt Kenya as exclusive Mevalone distributor in Kenya, a first commercial agreement with Syngenta covering ornamental crops in the EU and UK, and further temporary authorisation for Ecovelex-treated maize seeds in Italy.

Eden also signed a Knowledge Transfer Partnership with Royal Holloway, University of London, backed by Innovate UK, to accelerate Ecovelex development.

Mevalone, Eden's foliar biofungicide, is already approved in a number of key markets, and Eden and its partners are pursuing further regulatory clearances, including in Colombia and North Africa, to widen its addressable market.

Van der Broek said the board is "particularly encouraged by the exciting opportunities being advanced" in the insecticide programme, alongside potato late blight and wheat septoria candidates, each targeting large, commercially attractive crop protection markets.

The insecticide programme builds on field trial activity and distribution partner engagement flagged at last year's AGM; Eden is negotiating with two lead candidates and targets a commercial agreement by the end of the year.

Van der Broek acknowledged that crop protection regulatory pathways "are inherently methodical and can take time", but said progress made behind the scenes gives the board increasing confidence in the breadth of Eden's future portfolio.
