Arkle traces 1.5km uranium footprint at Namibia's ULG target

Arkle Resources (AIM:ARK), the London-listed energy metals explorer focused on uranium, said trench assays have defined an extensive uranium system at its primary ULG target in Namibia.

The mineralisation spans approximately 1.5 kilometres of strike by up to 0.6 kilometres at the Erongo uranium project, expanding on the 1km by 700m footprint reported in June, and remains open in both directions.

Initial reverse circulation drilling, completed at the end of July, confirmed the stacked leucogranite sheets continue to at least 188 metres below surface, with assay results due during September.

The deposit style matches the architecture hosting Bannerman Energy's Etango project and Asarian Energy's Norasa project, both in the central Erongo region, though Arkle stressed the comparison relates to geological setting only and no mineral resource has been estimated on its licences.

Of 271 samples assayed, 39 returned values above 100 parts per million (ppm) U₃O₈, with peak grades of 800ppm on surface and 358ppm in trenches.

Every sample above 100ppm sat on leucogranite or a leucogranite contact, indicating lithological control on the mineralisation.

Elevated rare earth elements also appeared across parts of the sample population, though the company is not currently targeting REEs and has undertaken no assessment of their economic significance.

The drill programme was expanded to 2,712 metres across 87 holes, more than 80% above the original plan, and 974 samples have been submitted to Actlabs for assay.

"The trench results we are reporting today are the first of those to come back, and they are encouraging," said chief executive Rory Harding.

Assay results from both the ULG and paleochannel drilling are expected during September, alongside drill sections integrating the trenching and drilling data.
