MedPal launches Health OS to close the wearable-to-prescription loop in the UK

MedPal AI has launched the MedPal Health OS, a vertically integrated, closed-loop platform that links data from 100+ wearables to AI triage, clinician-led prescribing and BD Rowa VMAX robotic dispensing — aiming to deliver ultra‑low‑cost, personalised care at scale.

MedPal AI (AIM:MPAL) has unveiled the MedPal Health Operating System, a single platform that the board says is the first closed-loop digital health OS of its kind in the UK and is designed to convert continuous wearable data into prescriptions fulfilled by robotic pharmacy infrastructure.

The MedPal AI app aggregates real‑time physiological feeds from more than 100 wearable devices and health apps — the announcement names Apple Health, Whoop and Garmin — to build a "real‑time, data‑rich health profile" for each user. That profile is processed by the company's clinician‑trained AI to produce personalised health scores and to flag interventions for expert clinician review, the company said.

Where clinical action is needed, the platform enables AI‑assisted diagnosis with clinician oversight and directs prescribing to MedPal’s automated fulfilment centre. Through wholly owned subsidiary MedPal Limited the company operates a 24/7 AI‑powered distribution centre using BD Rowa VMAX robotic dispensing, capable of processing in excess of 200 items per hour with 99.99% accuracy and offering same‑day and next‑day nationwide NHS and private prescription delivery.

MedPal says the system closes the bio‑feedback loop: once medication is delivered, resulting physiological change is re‑captured by the wearable layer to continuously refine each patient profile. The company also highlighted recently announced at‑home blood test kits that layer clinical biomarker data onto wearable inputs such as heart rate, sleep and activity.

The app sits at the centre of the strategy as both a direct‑to‑consumer channel and the data engine for clinical and pharmacy services. MedPal expects platform roll‑out to drive user engagement, improved clinical outcomes and "long‑term recurring revenue" through an integrated app, clinical and pharmacy ecosystem. Commercial routes cited in the announcement include an exclusive, zero‑cost, limited‑time partnership with Epassi giving access to a network of more than 11 million employees, plus planned B2B licensing to healthcare providers, businesses and insurers.

The company flagged the strategic value of the closed‑loop architecture as a competitive moat that compounds over time by deepening its proprietary data asset, while stressing the platform is intended to be accessible "to every person in the UK at ultra‑low cost."

"With the introduction of the MedPal Health OS, we are now articulating what we have been building from the outset: a closed‑loop digital health platform that connects wearable data to AI triage to clinician‑led prescribing to robotic dispensing and back again. Data drives the medication, and the medication improves the data. As far as we are aware, no other company in the UK is providing this end to end service. We look forward to updating the market on continued progress," said CEO Jason Drummond.
