ATOME (AIM:ATOM) has selected Sungrow Hydrogen as the electrolyser technology partner for the flagship 260,000 tonnes-per-year low-carbon Calcium Ammonium Nitrate project at Villeta in Paraguay.

Following a competitive tender run by EPC partner Casale S.A., ATOME said Sungrow will supply 110MW of proven alkaline electrolysers, supported by a long-term service agreement, to produce green hydrogen using 100% renewable baseload power from the Itaipu Dam.

The company said the selection marks the start of a planned long-term strategic partnership with Sungrow and complements recent direct investments in ATOME by Casale and Baker Hughes intended to support a one-stop-shop project offering.

ATOME is an AIM-listed developer targeting green fertiliser with a 445MW project pipeline in Paraguay, and its Villeta scheme already benefits from a 125MW renewable PPA, a 10-year offtake with Yara, a US$465m fixed-price EPC with Casale and an unconditional final investment decision declared in May 2026 after completion of US$665m of project finance, with construction due to begin in 2026.
