Recyclus Group Ltd — the UK's first industrial-scale lithium-ion battery recycler and 48.35% owned subsidiary of Technology Minerals (LSE:TM1) — has been granted a Transfrontier Shipment of Waste (TFS) licence for a second consecutive year and renewed ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certifications.
The TFS licence, required to export black mass legally, covers up to 600 tonnes across 40 shipments and is valid through January 2027, underpinning agreed exports to Europe under Recyclus’ offtake arrangement with Glencore plc and giving the business “clear forward visibility on export capacity and revenue,” the company said.
The ISO certificates, issued by the International Organization for Standardization, run for three years and attest to the group's quality, environmental and health & safety management systems as it scales operations.
Nick Kounoupias, a Non‑Executive Director of Technology Minerals, has now joined Recyclus’ board as the company’s appointed representative under the loan terms announced on 5 March. He fills the single director slot Technology Minerals is entitled to under that agreement.
"We are delighted to have secured our TFS licence for a second consecutive year... This achievement, alongside the renewal of our ISO certification, evidences our ongoing commitment to the highest environmental, regulatory and safety standards as we scale operations across Recyclus," Alex Stanbury, CEO of Technology Minerals and Director of Recyclus, said.
