Genflow hits primary endpoint in dog longevity trial

Genflow Biosciences (LSE:GENF) said its SLAB (Sarcopenia and Longevity in Aged Beagles) clinical trial has met its primary endpoint.

The London-listed biotech, which develops gene therapies targeting age-related disease, tested its proprietary SIRT6 centenarian gene therapy on 24 beagles aged over 10.

The randomised, blinded trial split the dogs across four groups: two naked DNA dose levels, a single-dose AAV8 group and a saline control.

Treated animals showed a clear reduction in biological age, measured by the GRIM methylation clock, relative to controls.

The result follows positive preliminary muscle data reported in February and safety and efficacy data confirmed at the three-month follow-up in April.

Genflow said the outcome strengthens its case with prospective animal health partners, and it continues to hold discussions with Tier-1 global animal health companies on licensing, co-development and commercialisation.

"Meeting the primary endpoint in SLAB is a defining milestone for Genflow", said chief executive Dr Eric Leire, adding the result "provides a powerful foundation for our partner discussions across animal health".

Full trial data, including methylation clock and muscle histology results, will be presented at the Animal Longevity Summit in Toronto on 1-2 October, where speakers include Dr Aubrey de Grey and Liz Parrish.
