IMI (LSE:IMI) has raised its full-year adjusted basic earnings per share guidance to between 137p and 143p, up from the previous range of 136p to 142p, as it confirmed continued organic revenue growth in the third quarter.
The London-listed fluid and motion control engineer said the upgrade principally reflects an additional contribution from Truflo Marine, whose disposal is now expected to complete in the fourth quarter of 2026 rather than the third, alongside stronger growth in its Transport business.
Third-quarter organic revenue rose 2%, against 12% organic growth in the same quarter of 2025, and is up 4% year to date.
Chief executive Roy Twite said the group delivered "a good third quarter performance, against a very strong prior year comparator, with strong order intake in Process Automation and double-digit organic growth in Climate Control."
Automation, which made up 65% of 2025 sales, saw organic revenue fall 3% in the quarter but remains 2% higher year to date, with Process Automation order intake up 19% in the quarter and 14% year to date, excluding Truflo Marine.
Life Technology, 35% of 2025 sales, grew organic revenue 11% in the quarter and 7% year to date, driven by Climate Control's 13% quarterly rise as data centre orders reached £25m year to date, up from £9m in the same period last year.
Transport organic revenue jumped 19% in the quarter and 10% year to date on a recovering global heavy-duty truck market, prompting IMI to lift its expectation for the division to high-single-digit organic growth in 2026, from mid-single-digit previously; the strategic review of Transport continues.
Earlier this month, IMI agreed to acquire iSMA CONTROLLI, an Italian building automation specialist, for an enterprise value of €63m, a deal Twite called "an excellent example of our disciplined approach to capital allocation" that strengthens the group's smart-connected offering for small and medium-sized commercial buildings.
