It will collect another £0.8m cash dividend via its subsidiary's role as secured lender to the collapsed Mothercare UK, though the group's broader solvency outlook remains unchanged.

Mothercare, the British heritage brand serving parents of newborn babies and young children, said liquidators of Mothercare UK will imminently pay a further £0.8m cash dividend.

The payment goes to a wholly owned Mothercare subsidiary, which acts as secured lender to Mothercare UK, the retail business that entered administration in 2019.

The company said the development, while helpful, does not materially alter the outlook disclosed in its announcement of 18 September, nor the broader financial picture facing the group.

Mothercare added that the outcome of its ongoing review and the group's longer-term solvency remain highly uncertain.
