New Eveo Cell Therapy Platform promises a fourfold output increase in existing cleanroom space and a 90% reduction in CAR-T manufacturing costs, with orders opening in September 2026.

The platform integrates cell selection, activation, gene modification, expansion, wash and concentration, and final formulation into a closed system, drawing on Sartorius solutions spanning critical raw materials, bioreactors, and separation technologies. Its compact footprint is designed to operate within existing facilities and lower-classification cleanroom environments, removing the need for purpose-built greenfield investment.

On a seven-day batch cycle across 50 production weeks per year, Sartorius said Eveo could yield more than 350 doses annually in a footprint currently producing roughly 100 — an almost fourfold increase. The platform also incorporates live cell imaging and high-throughput flow cytometry to address quality control bottlenecks, which the company said account for around 60% of regulatory disruptions in cell therapy production.

René Fáber, member of the Executive Board at Sartorius, said the platform would allow customers to "expand output, significantly reduce cost per dose and shorten vein-to-vein time for patients." A pilot with cell therapy contract development and manufacturing organisation ElevateBio "performed in line with design expectations, demonstrating its real-world applicability," according to the filing.

Sartorius plans to begin taking orders for Eveo in September 2026, with first deliveries expected in 2027. ElevateBio has been named a preferred partner and will receive early access to one of the first platforms for use with its manufacturing customers.

The recap

• Eveo platform targets a 90% reduction in CAR-T manufacturing costs and up to fourfold output increase in existing cleanroom space. • Pilot with CDMO ElevateBio confirmed real-world applicability; ElevateBio named preferred partner for early access. • Orders open September 2026; first deliveries expected 2027.
