Nuformix (LSE:NFX), a drug repurposing company targeting fibrosis and oncology, has appointed Tim Metcalfe as Non-Executive Chairman and Director with effect from 1 September.

He succeeds Dr Julian Gilbert, who steps down from the board on 31 August for personal reasons but will continue to support the company in a consultancy capacity.

Metcalfe brings more than 30 years of City experience, having held senior roles at Robert Fleming, Rothschild, Westhouse Securities and Northland Capital Partners, and served as Joint CEO of Zeus Capital before co-founding investor relations adviser IFC Advisory in 2015.

Gilbert said he had worked closely with Metcalfe and believes his corporate and strategic experience "will be highly valuable to the Company as it seeks to maximise the value of its NXP002 programme and considers the opportunities available to it."

Metcalfe said his focus will be "creating value for shareholders through the Company's NXP002 programme, ongoing partnering discussions and the consideration of broader strategic opportunities."

He currently holds directorships at Equipmake Holdings and The Investment Company, and previously served as a director of Spiritus Mundi plc.
