URU Metals (LSE:URU) has commenced a ground-based frequency-domain electromagnetic (FDEM) survey at the Zeb Nickel Project, effective 8 May.
The FDEM work follows completion of a ground-based gravity survey and will test conductive anomalies defined by earlier airborne Spectrem surveys to refine and prioritise drill targets, the company said; URU Metals is a mineral exploration and development company advancing critical metals projects in South Africa.
"This next phase will allow us to further refine the conductive anomalies and better understand their potential to host semi-massive to massive nickel sulphide mineralisation," CEO John Zorbas said.
The ground-based FDEM survey is designed to provide higher-resolution mapping than airborne systems, improve discrimination between sulphide mineralisation and lithological conductors, and better define the geometry, depth and continuity of EM anomalies to boost confidence in target selection.
URU is also preparing request-for-quotation documentation to select a drilling contractor and will update the market once a preferred contractor has been appointed.
