Windar Photonics (AIM:WPHO) has appointed Andreas Berg Nielsen as chief executive officer, effective 1 June. Nielsen joins the executive team from his current role as a Non‑Executive Director.

He brings more than 15 years' international leadership experience in wind energy and industrial B2B, most recently as Vice President, Sales & Commercial at KK Group. His CV includes senior management roles at Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy covering sales, project execution, production and business development across European and North American markets. He holds a Master's degree in Business Administration from Aarhus University, with an academic exchange at Sheffield Hallam University.

"On behalf of the Board, I am very pleased to welcome Andreas as Chief Executive Officer. Having worked closely with him as a Non‑Executive Director, we know his capabilities well and are confident that he is the right leader to execute Windar's growth strategy. With a strong sales pipeline in place, Andreas brings the commercial discipline and operational focus required to scale the business and deliver value for shareholders," David Lis, Executive Chairman, said.

"Over the past year I have gained a deep understanding of Windar's technology, organisation and market opportunity. There is clear momentum behind our core LiDAR offering among wind asset operators, and a strong opportunity to complement this with recurring revenues through our Turbine Performance Management software. I look forward to working with the team to execute the strategy, scale the business and build long‑term value," Andreas Berg Nielsen said.
