Powerhouse Energy Group (AIM:PHE) will participate in the JUST-CIRCLE Horizon Europe Innovation Action coordinated by Brunel Business School and is expected to receive approximately £225k under the consortium agreement.
JUST-CIRCLE has a total consortium value of approximately €5.85 million with just under €5 million of EU funding, will develop and test frameworks for sustainability accounting, lifecycle impact assessment and circular business-model innovation across sectors including waste-to-energy, and PHE, which converts non-recyclable waste into syngas and also operates the revenue-generating engineering consultancy Engsolve, will provide technology input as a 70% grant-funded partner.
"This project is undoubtedly asking some very significant questions which need to be looked at and addressed; with the findings certainly expected to shape how we approached sustainability and the circular economy in the future," Paul Emmitt, CEO of Powerhouse Energy Group.
The consortium brings together 14 partners across nine countries and includes universities, industry and social-economy organisations such as SPI, The American College of Greece / ALBA, Queen Mary School of Business & Management and University of Naples Federico II.
The first kick-off meeting is scheduled to be hosted at Brunel University on the 10th and 11th of June.
