Kendrick Resources (LSE:KEN), the AIM-listed rare earths explorer, reported strong portable X-ray fluorescence channel sample results from five carbonatite bodies at its Teufelskuppe project in Namibia.
The results confirm extensive, continuous, high-grade light rare earth oxide (LREO) mineralisation across substantial widths, matching the pattern already seen in the company's drilling.
Channel TKCH004 delivered the strongest headline grade, returning 2.94% LREO over 53.5 metres.
Other wide intercepts included 1.42% LREO over 197 metres at TKCH002, 1.91% over 84.5 metres at TKCH003, 1.80% over 64 metres at TKCH001 and 1.31% over 140 metres at TKCH005.
The data will feed into Kendrick's initial mineral resource estimate for Teufelskuppe, which covers an above-ground exposed mineralised carbonatite body recently estimated at approximately 14 million tonnes using a digital elevation model survey.
A third rig, a reverse circulation drill, has arrived on site and started drilling, adding to the ongoing diamond drilling campaign testing depth and sub-surface continuity.
"The more results we receive the more I become impressed with the continuity and consistency of both grade and mineralisation which in this case are quite remarkable", said Colin Bird, Kendrick's chairman.
Bird added that the arrival of the RC rig "will fast track us to maiden resource and thus progression to a Preliminary Economic Assessment".
