Premier African Minerals (AIM:PREM) has announced that hot commissioning of the Zulu Lithium flotation plant has progressed to ore feed and that completion of the current commissioning programme remains on track for the Q2 2026 timeline.
The company, a multi-commodity mining and natural resource development business focused on Southern Africa with projects including Zulu Lithium in Zimbabwe, added that hot commissioning from the crushing plant to the mill and to the mica flotation plant had now been successfully completed.
"We remain firmly focused on progressing commissioning activities in a methodical and disciplined manner at the new Zulu Lithium flotation plant and associated processing circuits," Graham Hill, Managing Director, said.
What remains is the hot commissioning of the new spodumene flotation plant and the production of saleable concentrate, and Xinhai Technology commissioning and optimisation engineers are now on site to support this phase.
Installation and testing of the final major mechanical equipment for the spodumene flotation plant, the plant air blower system, has been completed; the SCADA control system has been re‑commissioned, and wet commissioning with continuous water circulation has been used to confirm flow rates.
The mining contractor is ready to mobilise additional equipment to meet anticipated ore feed demand as planned plant operations ramp up.
The next milestones are completion of hot commissioning of the spodumene flotation section and the first production of saleable spodumene concentrate.
