Fulcrum Metals (AIM:FMET) (AIM: FMET) said its wholly owned subsidiary Fulcrum EnviroTech has signed a binding contract with Test Design Implement Solutions (TDI) to deploy and operate a standalone pilot plant in Ontario.
Under the contract TDI will supply, install, commission and operate the pilot plant while retaining ownership of the equipment, Extrakt Process Solutions will provide non-commercial licensing of its proprietary cyanide-free technology and Bechtel Energy Technologies & Solutions will provide alliance support, with Fulcrum supplying sites and managing programme execution and operations.
The pilot is capital‑light by design, includes equipment lease provisions allowing Fulcrum continued access after the initial campaign, and is intended to generate the metallurgical, operational and engineering data required to support commercial development.
The platform is sized for up to 2.4 tonnes per day and the initial programme contemplates approximately 12 pilot batches over a four‑week period using material from Fulcrum's Teck‑Hughes project while retaining scope to evaluate third‑party mine waste streams.
Fulcrum holds exclusive rights to deploy Extrakt's technology across legacy gold mine waste sites in the Timmins and Kirkland Lake districts, giving the pilot a clear pipeline of potential follow‑on opportunities.
"This is a significant milestone for Fulcrum which creates a pathway to commercialising Teck‑Hughes while establishing a platform that is able to support future mine waste recovery opportunities," Ryan Mee, Chief Executive Officer of Fulcrum Metals plc.
Over the coming months Fulcrum and its partners will progress site selection, advance implementation activities and prepare the pilot for deployment.
