Anglesey Mining identifies four targets at Parys Mountain

Satellite and geological analysis from Satellite Applications Catapult and the British Geological Survey has flagged four areas warranting further exploration at Anglesey Mining's Welsh polymetallic project.

Anglesey Mining (AIM:AYM) has received results from a geospatial exploration study conducted with Satellite Applications Catapult and the British Geological Survey (BGS) at its Parys Mountain project in North Wales.

The BGS identified four target areas where combined geological, geophysical and earth observation data support further exploration work, and these broadly align with zones already flagged in the company's own technical reviews.

Catapult, a UK Research & Innovation body specialising in remote sensing, worked with the BGS to integrate Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR), spectral and geophysical datasets.

The non-intrusive approach is designed to give faster, cheaper indications of subsurface geology than conventional drilling-led methods.

Anglesey commissioned the study, announced on 26 May, specifically to identify potential VMS extensions in and around the Parys Mountain region.

The overlap between the satellite-derived targets and the company's existing aero-geophysical programme adds a further data layer to de-risk future exploration spending at the site.

The AIM-listed company is developing the UK's largest polymetallic Volcanic Massive Sulphide (VMS) project at the wholly owned Parys Mountain copper-zinc-lead-silver-gold deposit.

News Intelligence what this means for the company

Anglesey Mining has received independent validation of four exploration targets at Parys Mountain from the British Geological Survey and Satellite Applications Catapult, using satellite and geophysical data. The targets align with the company's own technical work, de-risking future exploration spend by confirming priority zones before drilling—a non-intrusive, lower-cost screening method that adds a data layer to existing aero-geophysical programmes.

Investment case

The study confirms exploration direction but does not advance the resource definition or development timeline at Parys Mountain. For a company that has eliminated about £4.0m of historic debt and is focused on advancing the deposit toward production, this is a technical validation step rather than a material project milestone.
