Diversity at TickStock is a question about whose voices contribute to the publication, whose perspectives inform our coverage, and which parts of the market we look at. We treat it as an editorial question with editorial answers, not as a marketing position.

Editorial Coverage

A whole-of-market intelligence publication has to actually cover the whole of the market. Our coverage commitment includes:

  • Breadth across market caps. We do not default to FTSE 100 coverage and treat AIM and small-cap as a footnote. Both ends of the market matter to retail investors and we cover both.
  • Breadth across sectors. Energy and financials get more attention in mainstream coverage than healthcare, real estate, or industrials. Our editorial calendar resists that bias.
  • Breadth across geographies. Coverage extends beyond London-listed names where international issues matter to the picture.
  • Breadth in sourcing. Sell-side coverage tilts towards the largest brokerages by default. We cite a wider range of broker views — including independent and specialist research — where the substance warrants.

Contributor Recruitment

The named contributing editorial team described on the About page is recruited on criteria-oriented standards published openly. The standards themselves are designed to widen, not narrow, the pool of credible contributors:

  • Track records can be evidenced from sell-side, buy-side, journalism, academia, regulatory, or specialist-commentary backgrounds — no single career path is privileged.
  • Contributors at different career stages are welcome — well-credentialed mid-career and later journalists, plus rising analysts and commentators with verifiable expertise.
  • Geographic, sector, and demographic diversity is treated as a positive, not a tiebreaker.

Voice and Language

Tickstock's editorial style guide requires:

  • Inclusive language that respects how individuals identify themselves and is accurate about who is being described
  • Avoidance of jargon and insider shorthand that signals club membership without serving comprehension
  • Plain English explanations of technical concepts so the publication is accessible to retail readers regardless of background
